"In March, 2008 Mary Parent was named Chairman of the newly formed MGM Worldwide Motion Picture Group overseeing Production, Distribution, and Marketing for MGM and United Artists. Ms. Parent brings a wealth of production and entertainment industry experience to MGM.

"In January 2006, Ms. Parent transitioned from Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production at Universal Pictures to an exclusive five-year production deal with Universal, along with her producing partner Scott Stuber. Their initial three films: The Break-Up, You, Me and Dupree and The Kingdom grossed more than $420 million worldwide.

"As Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production, Ms. Parent oversaw the planning, development and production of Universal's entire annual slate of films. During her tenure, Ms. Parent was responsible for many of the studio's critically acclaimed and commercially successful films and franchises, including King Kong, Meet the Parents, as well as its hugely successful sequel, Meet the Fockers, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Seabiscuit, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, the American Pie franchise as well as the Academy Award wining Gladiator, a co-production with DreamWorks.

"Prior to being named Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production for Universal Pictures in 2003, Ms. Parent served as President of Production. Ms. Parent joined Universal Pictures in 1997 as senior Vice President of Production.

"Ms. Parent came to Universal from New Line Cinema, where she had worked since 1994 as Vice President of Production. Prior to this she served as Creative Executive as well as Director of Development at New Line. Ms. Parent began her career as an agent trainee at ICM." [1]
