Biographical Information
As the Network and Innovation Manager at the Migrants' Rights Network "Maryam’s role is split between developing MRN’s national network of migrant support organizations, creating opportunities for collaboration and cross-sector working and developing new and innovative ways for MRN to fulfill its mission. Maryam is passionate about working with other sectors and exploring the possibilities of new media technologies. She is currently working on TEDxEastEnd exploring the idea of society beyond borders and developing MRN’s income diversification strategy.
"Before coming to MRN, Maryam was the coordinator of the Refugee Initiative for Social Entrepreneurs at UnLtd, the foundation for social entrepreneurs and a Director for the Global Conference on the Prevention of Genocide in Montreal, Canada. Maryam received her MA in Refugee Care from the University of Essex/Tavistock Clinc and her BA from McGill University. She is the founder of Young Professionals in Human Rights and is an activist with United4Iran London."[1]
