Background
Eskom proposed Matimba-B power station to be built next to its existing Matimba Power Station. The station was to be built in two stages, with a maximum capacity of 4,800 MW. Construction was to start in 2007 and the power station was to be operational by 2010.[1]
However, as of 2015 the project has not progressed and appears to be abandoned.
