Background on Plant
Meiya Baoji Cogen power station was a proposed 2 x 350 MW supercritical coal plant in Weibin District, Baoji Prefecture, sponsored by China General Nuclear Power Group. In September 2016 the project was cancelled by China's National Energy Administration (NEA) in 2016.[1] For more information, see China's 2016/2017 Restrictions on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity.
Despite being cancelled, it was reported in December 2016 that plant sponsor China General Nuclear Power Group was continuing preliminary work on the project.[2]
