Mel Gamble "retired from the CIA in 2008 after four decades of distinguished roles as an operations officer. His career at the Agency included service as Chief of the Africa Division and Deputy Chief of the European Division. He completed five tours in Africa, including as senior intelligence representative in Burkina Faso and South Africa, as well as time in Nigeria, Kenya, and Liberia. Mel has worked closely with the National Security Council and the Departments of Defense and State on Africa issues." [1]
