Melinda Quintos de Jesus – Executive Director of the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility.

"She helped conceptualize and edited TV Times and Balikbayan. During the latter years of Martial Law, she wrote a column for Bulletin Today and was among the women journalists who wrote critically of the Marcos regime. Eased out of her post in this paper, she joined the alternative press as columnist and editor of the newsweekly Veritas. Post-Marcos era, she was a regular columnist for leading dailies including the Philippine Daily Inquirer, ThePhilippine Star , and TheManila Times. Her experience includes television public affairs and radio commentary.

"She was a journalist-in-residence in the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a fellow at the Shorenstein Center for Press, Politics, and Public Policy of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She is a member of the IFEX Council and the Steering Committee of the World Movement for Democracy. A founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA), she has been speaker, panelist and resource person at international conferences and meetings.
