Background on Project

Mengtai Coal Power Group has been permitted to build a 2 x 330 MW coal plant in Dongsheng District. Coal supply would be domestic.[1][2]

The units were completed in 2015.[3]

Expansion

Two additional 330 MW subcritical coal units are under construction near the power station,[4] although they do not have a permit for construction.[5]

However, there has been no construction progress on units 3-4 since January 2017, and plans appear shelved.
