"As Pro Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Quality), Professor Merran Evans is responsible for supporting the development of effective strategic, operational and education planning within Monash University; for education policy and program matters; and for leading the improvement of quality assurance in all areas of Monash University's operations.
"Professor Evans' career at Monash has included the administrative appointments of Director of University Planning and Statistics, the Monash London Centre, and Planning and Academic Affairs; Associate Chair of Academic Board; and Associate Dean (Undergraduate Teaching) in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
"Other current and previous activities include membership on the Board of Monash College, the Menzies Centre for Australian Studies in the UK, the Australian-American Educational Foundation (Fulbright), the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) Management Committee, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, and the Victorian Council for Knowledge, Innovation, Science and Engineering. She has also been on the Board of Directors of the Australian Ballet Foundation and the Council of Management of the Australian Ballet School. She is a recipient of the Centenary Medal for Services to Education.
"Professor Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Melbourne, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Econometrics from Monash University."[1]
She is married to Gareth Evans.
