"London, 4th March – Michael Baker has been appointed as the new Director General for the international animal welfare charity, the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). Major General Peter Davies, the current Director General, is retiring this year and will hand over to Mike.

"Mike is currently the Chief Executive of The Brooke, a leading WSPA member society. On his nomination, Mike said, “I am delighted to be taking up this role and having the opportunity to build on Peter’s excellent work. WSPA is uniquely placed to make a practical, long term difference for some of the world’s neediest animals and change the way their societies perceive them.”
