Michael Kraus
Michael Kraus "is the Frederick C. Dirks Professor of Political Science at Middlebury College. Born in Prague, Kraus obtained his PhD in Politics at Princeton. A recipient of grants from the Ford Foundation, American Council of Learned Societies, among others, he has previously held appointments as a Research Fellow at the Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School of Government, Columbia's School of International Affairs and as a visiting professor at Charles University in Prague. He has written and co-edited three books and a score of articles on Soviet, Russian and East European politics and history. For the past five years, he has chaired the Department of Political Science at Middlebury. Kraus is a member of the Dante Fascell Fellowship Board of the US Department of State. His research project at the Carr Center focuses on transitional justice in post-communist Europe and its impact on democratization.“ [1]
