Michael Zak

Michael Zak "has been a director of Verenium since 2007, and prior to Verenium’s merger with Celunol, was a director of Celunol. Since 1991 Mr. Zak has been with Charles River Ventures, a venture capital management company, where he invests in alternative energy and fuel technologies among other industries including voice and data communications equipment, networking software, applications software and services, optical communications equipment, network monitoring and analysis software, semiconductors and wireless communications equipment. From 1986 to 1991 he served as co-founder and Vice President of Concord Communications, a start-up network monitoring and analysis software company which subsequently became a successful investment of Charles River Ventures. From 1981 to 1986 Mr. Zak was employed by Motorola, Inc. and McKinsey & Company, Inc., and from 1975 to 1979 he served as a communications and signals intelligence officer in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Zak holds a B.S. degree in engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School." [1]
