Background
In 2010 Bosnia’s Serb Republic was holding talks with three potential strategic partners for the construction of a power plant near the Miljevina coal mine in an attempt to restart the mine. Potential investors included Hungarian investors and Russian businessman Oleg Burlakov. All coal for the thermal power plant would be provided by the mine.[1]
A 2014 listing of potential power projects in Bosnia lists the Miljevina coal mine but not the power station.[2]
