Biographical Information

"Miranda Curtis is a non-executive director of Liberty Global Inc (LGI) having retired from her executive role as President, Liberty Global Japan after leading the sale of LGI's Japanese interests in early 2010. Miranda is Chairman of Waterstones, and a non-executive director of Marks and Spencer plc. She is Vice Chairman of Camfed, the leading African girls' education charity, Deputy Chairman of Garsington Opera and also serves on the board of the Royal Shakespeare Company." [1]

" LGI is the sister company to Liberty Media Inc, which recently acquired 16.6% of Barnes & Noble. Both companies are chaired by Dr John Malone. Miranda has negotiated and managed joint ventures on behalf of LGI across Europe and Asia-Pacific, most notably in Japan, where for 17 years she oversaw the J:COM partnership with Sumitomo Corporation. Having led the multi-billion dollar sale of LGi's Japanese interests in the spring of 2010, she stepped down from her executive role at LGI and accepted Dr Malone's invitation to join the Denver -based LGI board as a non-executive director."
