Background

The power station has been proposed by Moser Baer Power & Infrastructures Limited, now known as Hindustan Powerprojects. The Bihar State Investment Promotion Board lists the project as having been granted investment approval in May 2011. The power station has been proposed to be built at Moma village.

In 2013 it was reported that Moser Baer's proposed 3,800 MW of power projects were being held up due to a lack of coal linkage, which was also making it difficult for the company to raise funds for the projects.

As of March 2015 the project is not mentioned on Hindustan Powerprojects' list of upcoming projects, and appears to have been abandoned.
