Background on Plant

In January 2012 Tata Sponge Iron received a Terms of Reference to set up a 135 MW power plant based on coal washery rejects from the Radhikapur coal block.[1]

Since then the project has yet to receive environmental clearance, and appears to be deferred or abandoned.
