National Cancer Policy Board
The National Cancer Policy Board (NCPB) is doing NOTHING about researching childhood cancer causes and prevention. [1]
Their latest project report, misnamed "Fulfilling the Potential for Cancer Prevention and Early Detection," does not in any way address causes or prevention of childhood cancers, and concludes only that tobacco, alcohol, and weight cause cancer.
A list of the sponsors of this woefully inadequate exercise are as follows:
- National Cancer Institute
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- American Cancer Society
- Amgen, Inc.
- Abbott Laboratories
- American Society of Clinical Oncology
- Hoechst Marion Roussel, Inc.

The NCPB is a joint activity of the National Academy of Medicine Institute of Medicine and the National Academies Division of Earth and Life Studies, National Research Council at The National Academies; and appears to be an Industry-funded organization of the Healthcare industry (sic).
