National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations
The National Council on US-Arab Relations, according to its web site, is "an American non-profit, non-governmental, educational organization dedicated to improving American knowledge and understanding of the Arab world." Founded in 1983 and based in Washington, DC, the group is a 501(c)(3) charity organization.
From the web site: "The National Council is not a membership organization. Its supporters are primarily individuals and institutions in the United States and the Arab world who have hosted or participated in one of the National Council's programs."
In 2000 and 2001, the organization has paid for seven U.S. legislators to visit various Arab countries.[1]
The council runs the Saudi-US Relations Information Service[2] although the current SUSRIS web site does not mention it.
