{{#badges:stub}} National TSA Opt-Out Day, held on the day before Thanksgiving, is a protest of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) invasive search techniques used at airports that involve personal searches conducted in public on millions of innocent passengers using X-Ray scanners that show them naked. People who choose not to go through the scanners ("opt out") are instead forced to undergo aggressive physical searches in which TSA personnel touch breasts, groins and genitals. Some travelers who have undergone the searches consider them the equivalent of sexual assault. The new, invasive search technique, deployed in Autumn, 2010, have given rise to an uproar from passengers who have started to protest the procedure. [1][2][3][4]
