Background on Plant

Nayong-1 power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,200 MW. It is part of Nayong General Power Station, which consists of Nayong-1 power station and Nayong-2 power station. The two power stations are both located in Yangchang Town, 9 kilometers apart. Nayong-1 was completed between 2003 and 2004, and was originally owned by Guizhou Jinyuan Group.[1] In 2008, CPI became Guizhou Jinyuan Group's controlling shareholder.[2][3][4]

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[5]
