Nebraska City Station Unit 3
{{#Badges:CoalSwarm}} In 2007, the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) announced plans to build a third 660 megawatt (MW) unit of Nebraska City Station, southeast of Nebraska City. The plant will burn coal from the Powder River Basin.[1]
Although OPPD has not announced that it is abandoning this project, it has not communicated about the project with state air officials since announcing the project in July 2007.[2] However, the company announced in October 2008 that it was evaluating twelve responses to a Request for Proposals for 80 MW of wind capacity, to be provided by 2010.[3]
