Neil Thin
Neil Thin "is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Social and Political Studies at the University of Edinburgh. He lectures and researches on social development, poverty, human rights, sustainable development and happiness, and facilitates the engagement of young people in international development through voluntary work and campaigning. Since the 1980s he has been a regular adviser to DFID for whom he has written guidance documents on evaluation, social development, learning strategies, trade unions, NGOs, environment and poverty. He is currently on the advisory panels of, the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, the Scottish Executive’s Expert Strategic Planning Group on International Development, the Darwin Initiative and the Edinburgh Centre for Tropical Forests. He is also Chair of Practical Action Publishing and a board member of the Network of International Development Organisations in Scotland. He served on the advisory panel of the National Lottery Charities Board’s (now the Community Fund’s) International Grants Programme from 1996 to 2001." [1]
