Neptune Terminals
{{#badges: CoalSwarm |Navbar-Coalexports}} Neptune Terminals are located in the city of North Vancouver, and is part of Port Metro Vancouver. The facility has three terminals, one of which is dedicated to coal. The coal Neptune exports is predominately high-grade steel-making coal produced in Alberta and British Columbia.
Neptune is owned by three Canadian bulk shippers, including Teck, the Canadian coal mining giant.

Coal expansion
The Sightline Institute reports that current investments in new equipment will increase coal handling capacity at Neptune to 12.5 million tons per year, an expansion that is scheduled to be completed by fall 2012. The facility is capable of storing 600,000 tons. Neptune’s coal terminal ships 8 million tons of coal per year.[1] As of 2011 Canada was the world’s seventh-biggest coal exporter.[2]
In January 2013, Port Metro Vancouver approved an expansion to the terminal of 18.5 million metric tonnes per year.[3]
