Background on Plant

The three-unit, 570-MW coal-fired Neryungrinskaya power station is owned by RusHydro. The plant’s three units were brought online between 1983 and 1985.[1][2][3]

Environmental impact

In May 2019 local officials agreed to begin monthly monitoring of pollution from the plant.[4]
