Background on Plant

The three-unit, 570-MW coal-fired Neryungrinskaya power station is owned by RusHydro. The plant’s three units were brought online between 1983 and 1985.

Environmental impact

In May 2019 local officials agreed to begin monthly monitoring of pollution from the plant.
