New Lenton coal mine

The mine is on the land of the Barada Bana People and the Widi of Nebo, formally Wiri People Core Country.[2]

Location
The New Lenton coal mine would lie adjacent to the Issac River, 20 kilometres south of the town of Glenden, 65 kilometres north west of Nebo and 65 kilometres north of Moranbah, in the Issac Municipality of Central Queensland.[1]
Coal Mine Background
There is an existing mining lease on the project, which was granted in 2008, with three additional Exploration Permits for Coal, that extend beyond the mining lease boundary. The approval allows for mining of up to 2.0 Million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of coal.
Coal is being proposed to be extracted from the site for 25 years.[1]
