Noel Lawrence Hillman
Noel Lawrence Hillman, of New Jersey, was nominated January 25, 2006, by President George W. Bush to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey, vice William G. Bassler, who retired.
Noel Hillman, "one of the Justice Department's lead prosecutors in the Jack Abramoff corruption probe," is "chief of the department's public integrity section." In New Jersey, Hillman "served in the U.S. Attorney's office under Michael Chertoff, now secretary of Homeland Security. The White House was poised to nominate Hillman last summer, after New Jersey's two Democratic senators took the opportunity to weigh in on Hillman and other nominees in exchange for lifting their objections to another candidate Bush had nominated in 2003," India Daily reported January 26, 2006.
Hillman, of Red Bank, New Jersey, a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, "was with New York's Lord Day & Lord, Barrett Smith before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark in 1992. He became deputy chief of the criminal division in 2001." [1]
