From Oil To Coal
Northside Generating Station (NGS) Units 1 and 2 were natural and fuel oil fired units that were repowered as circulating fluidized bed coal-burning units (297.5 MW each).[2]
Coal Ash Spill
The plant is owned by JEA (formerly Jacksonville Electric Authority) which faced questions in 2010, when the plant's coal ash ended up in environmentally sensitive Clay County wetlands.[3]
