Background on Plant
The seven-unit, 359-MW coal-fired Novosibirsk-2 power station is owned by SGK, which acquired a 78% stake in the station's operator Sibeko in January 2018.[1][2] In March 2018 it was announced that the plant would switch from burning bituminous coal to lignite because lignite is cheaper.[3]
In August 2018 SGK was acquired by Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK).[4]
