2007
- a leak at the Asco I plant, in Tarragona, Spain occurred in November. Radioactive particles were detected outside the plant on March 14, 2008 but, AFP reports, "the plant did not tell the watchdog until April 4."[1]
2008
August
- the Vandellos II complex near Tarragona in northeastern Spain was shut down after an electrical generator fire. The plant is operated by Asociacion Nuclear Asco-Vandellos (Anav) for its joint venture owners Endesa and Iberdrola. The Spanish Nuclear Safety Authority (CSN) said the fire occurred in a separate building from the reactor. AFP reported that the reactor would be closed for several weeks.[2]
