Background on Plant

Swedish-based Vattenfall proposed to build a 1660 MW coal-fired power plant in Opalenie through its Polish unit.[1] In 2010 it was reported that Vattenfall decided to cancel the coal plant, along with its Pulawy power station, but may continue plans with building a power block for its Warsaw-based Siekierki power station,[2] which was also later cancelled.
