Owen J. Lynch
Owen J. Lynch "SC&D's environmental and human rights law specialist, Dr. Lynch assists with establishing and strengthening public interest law NGOs in developing countries. He currently manages the Law and Communities Program at the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL). At the heart of Lynch's work is a steadfast commitment to global democracy, community - based management of natural resources, and meaningful local participation in development projects. He brings to SAIS years of experience working with international organizations, including the World Resources Institute, the Asian Development Bank, the Food and Agricultural Organization, and USAID, and works collaboratively with public interest environmental lawyers and social scientists in various Asian, African, and Pacific Island countries. Lynch taught for seven years at the University of the Philippines College of Law. He holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America and master's and doctoral degrees from Yale Law School.
