{{#badges:CoalSwarm}} The Oxbow Lignite Surface Mine is an open-pit mine near Coushatta, Louisiana, operated by Red River Mining Company. The mine fuels the Dolet Hills Power Station, owned by AEP's SWEPCO and Cleco Power, along with Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative and Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA).[1] As of 2009, half of the lignite reserves at the mine are owned by AEP's SWEPCO and subsidiary Dolet Hills Lignite Company, and the other half by Cleco.[2]
