Biographical Information
Pamela W. Barnes is President and Chief Executive Officer of EngenderHealth, a leading global reproductive health organization with more than 65 years of experience in improving the quality of family planning, maternal health, and HIV/AIDS services. Ms. Barnes currently oversees programs in 27 countries across Africa and Asia. Previously, she was President and Chief Executive Officer at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, where she led the expansion of the organization’s portfolio and budget from $45 million to $150 million, among other achievements." "President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pamela W. Barnes brings more than 30 years of managerial experience and vision in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. The public face of the Foundation, Barnes is responsible for the strategic, programmatic, fundraising, financial, and management operations of the organization. Prior to joining the Foundation, where she previously served as Chief Operating Officer and acting CEO, she was the vice president of finance and administration at the International Trachoma Initiative. Barnes has also served as the director of operations and finance for Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic in New York, and volunteered for the Peace Corps in Paraguay. Prior to her entry into the nonprofit world, she worked for more than 20 years in investment management and corporate finance in New York, including stints as assistant treasurer of corporate finance at GTE and assistant treasurer at RCA. She currently serves on the Investment Committee of the International Planned Parenthood Foundation, Western Hemisphere Region. Barnes attended Marymount College and earned an MBA in finance at Fordham University." [2]
