Paul Brickell
"Paul is Executive Director of Regeneration and Community Partnerships at the London Legacy Development Corporation, whose role is to use the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of the London 2012 Games and the opening of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to develop a dynamic new heart for east London, to create opportunities for local people and to drive innovation and growth in London and the UK. Paul’s earlier roles in the regeneration of east London include time as Chief Executive of Leaside Regeneration and of the Bromley by Bow Centre and sixteen years as a Newham Councillor.
"Paul’s earlier career was spent in biomedical research at the University of Cambridge, Imperial College and latterly as Professor of Molecular Hematology at the Institute of Child Health at Great Ormond Street Hospital, University College London.
"Amongst other roles, Paul is Chair of the East London NHS LIFT Company, a Fellow of Birkbeck University of London; a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Commerce and Manufactures; and a Trustee of Trinity Buoy Wharf Trust."[1]
