Background on Plant
Pingdingshan power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 420 MW. Units 1-4 have been retired. The plant's currently operating units were completed in 2006. Units 1 to 4 were originally owned by CPI, and units 5-6 by CPI (55%) and China Pingmei Shenma Group (45%).[1][2]
Ownership
In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[3]
