Background
The Portland Natural Gas Transmission System is a 295-mile interstate natural gas pipeline system originating at TransCanada's TQM pipeline at the Canadian border, shares facilities with the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline from Westbrook, ME to Dracut, MA where it ultimately connects with the Tennessee Gas Pipeline System. The pipeline has a capacity of 168 million cubic feet per day at the Canadian border and increases to 210 million cubic feet per day from Westbrook, ME to Dracut, MA.[2]
