Prince's Rural Action Programme
"The countryside provides us with a wide range of services, including protecting us from climate change and flooding and providing us with food, clean air and water. Despite this, it is often taken for granted and is under threat. We engage companies on the issues facing rural communities, making the connection between business and the health of the countryside to inspire change. The rural economy is hugely important to the UK, turning over £300bn, employing 5.5m people and offering untapped potential to generate another £236bn to £347bn per year. The strategy is set by the Rural Leadership Team, under the Chairmanship of Mark Allen (UK), Chief Executive, Dairy Crest and focuses on delivering business led solutions to some of the key rural issues."
