Prosperity Mine

The mine is within 50 miles of 13 southwestern Indiana coal-fired generation facilities, such as Vectren's A. B. Brown Generating Station and F. B. Culley Generating Station in Posey and Warrick counties.[1]

Permit Violation
In 2009 Five Star Mining, Inc. agreed to pay a $75,000 penalty for depositing, without a permit, about 4,200 cubic yards of dredged material into forested wetlands next to Conger Creek in 2005. The Creek flows into the White River.[2]
