Established in 2002, Public Interest Intellectual Property Advisors (PIIPA) provides a network of intellectual property professionals willing to provide pro bono or reduced rate services primarily to clients in developing countries. On behalf of developing country organisations, they "negotiate bioprospecting access and benefit sharing agreements", "negotiate agreements providing access to medicine", and "litigate patent and trademark infringement and compulsory license cases".
