Background
Iberdrola, listed for many years in the Platts World Electric Power Plants Database as the sponsor of the Puerto Barrios project, sold all of its Guatemalan energy holdings to Colombian-based EPM (Empresas Publicas de Medellin) between October and December 2010 [1], in response to drastic price reductions for electricity ordained by the Guatemalan government.[2] The plant appears to have been abandoned since it is not included in EPM's plans.[3] As of June 2015, it has also been removed from the Platts database.[4]
