Background on Plant

The project received a terms of reference (ToR) in 2011, and Visaka Thermal Power requested an extension in 2014, as the government has not yet been able to allocate land for the project.

Visaka Thermal Power applied for a new ToR in February 2015.

As of June 2019 there has been no further progress, and it appears the project is abandoned.
