Background on Plant

The project received a terms of reference (ToR) in 2011,[1] and Visaka Thermal Power requested an extension in 2014, as the government has not yet been able to allocate land for the project.[2]

Visaka Thermal Power applied for a new ToR in February 2015.[3][4]

As of June 2019 there has been no further progress, and it appears the project is abandoned.
