Rapid Pengerang power station (also known as Pengerang Co-generation Plant) is a 1,900-megawatt (MW) gas-fired power plant in the state of Johor, Malaysia.[1]

Background
Occupying an area of approximately 6,242 acres, the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) is the largest project ever undertaken by Malaysia's national oil and gas company, PETRONAS, and is the largest single construction project in the country of Malaysia.[2] PIC consists of the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) and six associated facilities: Re-gasification Terminal 2, a raw water supply project, an air separation unit, the Pengerang Deepwater Terminal, centralized and shared utilities and facilities, and the Pengerang Co-generation Plant (PCP).[3]
The Pengerang Co-generation Plant's first co-generating unit achieved a commercial operation date of October 2017, while its last unit went into operation in late-December 2018.[4][1]
Both the Pengerang Co-generation Plant and the PIC form part of the Johor State’s Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC), which is under Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to establish new engines of growth for Malaysia.[5]
