Rich Nolan
Rich Nolan is the vice president of government affairs for the National Mining Association (NMA), the peak industry group for major mining companies operating in the U.S. He commenced in the position in March 2006.
A NMA media release stated that "having previously served in a similar capacity for CropLife America, Nolan spearheaded a multi-industry coalition which secured last year's House passage of the bi-partisan Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act. Previously, Nolan worked as a government relations consultant for Ball Janik LLP, where he led an industry coalition in support of the Healthy Forest Restoration Act, and before that as director of congressional affairs for the American Forest & Paper Association."[1]
"Nolan served as legislative director to U.S. Rep. Wally Herger (R-Calif.) and as a legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), advising each on budget, environment, tax and trade policies. Nolan also worked as an economic advisor to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Republican National Committee and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He graduated from Bates College with a bachelor of arts in economics," the media release stated.[1]
