Richard C. Rowson, "is President of the Council for a Community of Democracies. Formerly, he was Regional Director for the Foreign Policy Association (in the 50s), served as Director of Policy and Planning, Free Europe, Inc. (Radio Free Europe) in Munich and New York (in the 60s), as President of three different publishing houses in New York: Praeger Publishers, Pergamon Press and R.R. Bowker (in the 70s) and as Director of three academic presses: Duke University Press, American University Press and the Woodrow Wilson Center Press (in the 80s and 90s). Prior to assuming his present position he was Director of the Executive Service Corps of Washington, D.C.(1999 - 2003). He is a graduate of the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs with a professional (M.I.A.) degree and received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He served in the U.S. Navy, 1944-47 and was born in Hollywood, California." [1]
