Robert J. Myers, president of the Carnegie Council from 1980-95, was publisher of The New Republic, co-founder and publisher of The Washingtonian, and served with the Department of the Army and the Department of State in Asia as deputy chief of the CIA, the Far East division. He has written and edited a number of books and continues to write and speak on ethics and international affairs from his current post as a Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University." [1]
