Robinder Bhatty

Robin Bhatty "is a business and security consultant presently working in the Middle East. From 2003 to 2004, he worked for the International Crisis Group's (www.crisisweb.org) Middle East Division as a security analyst based at ICG's field office in Amman, Jordan, specializing in Iranian nuclear issues and analysis of internal security issues in Iraq.

"From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Bhatty worked as a Senior Associate with the Caspian Basin Unit of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (www.cera.com), a leading firm providing a variety of strategic advice services to the international energy industry. In the course of his work with the Caspian Unit, Mr. Bhatty executed field assignments for CERA clients in Turkey, Russia, the southern Caucasus, and Central Asia.

"Mr. Bhatty has also been a consultant for the World Bank, the RAND Corporation, and the Arms Control Division of Human Rights Watch. He has lectured at the CIA, the US National Intelligence Council, the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research, the Royal Institute of International Affairs (UK), and the Heinrich Bolle Foundation (Germany). In 1998-99, he designed and taught a course (UNI360) on non-state military actors for the Peace & Conflict Studies program at University College."
