Background on Plant
Ruiming power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 250 MW. The plant was completed at 1993 and 2001. It is owned by multiple shareholders, and is running by Yudean Yuehua Huangpu power station, which is located right next to it. [1][2]
Since the power plant is located in urban area of Guangzhou Prefecture, it has been a long-time contributor to the air pollution in Guangzhou. The city government is planning to retire Ruiming power station by 2020, along with 6 other coal-fired power plants and one gas-fired power plant.[3]
In March 2018 it was reported that the plant is retired.[4]
