Russell Brand
Russell Edward Brand (born 4 June 1975) is an English comedian, actor, and author. Brand has been a vegetarian since the age of 14 and a vegan since October 2011. Brand has shown interest in the Hare Krishna Movement and chants the Hare Krishna mantra for drug rehabilitation. In October 2013 he acted as the guest editor of the New Statesman, noting: "For me the solution has to be primarily spiritual and secondarily political." Guest writers included the likes of David Lynch (on transcendental meditation and inner revolution), “modern-day shaman” Daniel Pinchbeck "urges humanity to cast off its 'mind forged manacles'", David DeGraw, and Graham Hancock "hopes for a revolution in consciousness."
