Ryan Grim

Ryan Grim is an author, journalist, and D.C. Bureau Chief at The Intercept. He was described as "one of the most authoritative voices in Washington on a wide range of topics" by Huffington Post editor-in-chief Lydia Polgreen, who also mentioned that Grim's "specialty has always been giving voice to the voiceless and taking on powerful institutions trying to screw over the most vulnerable among us."[1] Grim is seen by some as "a left-wing populist attack dog" and credited for helping The Intercept become "the loudest voice attacking Democrats from the left."[2]

Education and Career

Grim received a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from St. Mary's College of Maryland between 1996-2000, then received a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland.[3]

He worked as a reporter for Politico and Huffington Post, where he was the Washington Bureau Chief until 2017.[4][3] He has contributed to MSNBC[5] and is a current contributor at The Young Turks[6]

In June 2017, Grim began work as The Intercept's D.C. Bureau Chief.[7][3]

News and Controversy

Grim was the first reporter to break the news of Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.[8][9] Grim has criticized U.S. senators Dianne Feinstein's and Chuck Schumer's handling of the Ford document and Kavanaugh's confirmation in general.[10]
