Background on Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of Qinzhou power station, totaling 1,260 MW, were brought online in 2007. The plant is owned by State Development & Investment Corporation (SDIC).

Description of Expansion

SDIC is currently building two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,100 MW. The units are projected to be completed in 2015.

The two units were completed by September 2016, along with the Qinzhou Port Coal Terminal at Beibu Gulf Port.
