Background on Project
The State Grid Corp of China (SGCC), the country's largest power transmission and distribution firm, was planning to build a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 2,400 MW in Shandong Province.[1]
In 2012 SGCC sold its coal and power generation unit with assets worth about 50 billion yuan ($7.9 billion) to Shenhua Group.[2] Plans for the Jiezhuang power station seems to have fallen away with the sale of SGCC's coal assets.
